Origins
In 2020 I founded Newman Studios, a set of design-led studios in Los Angeles, built on a background in fashion, photography, and interior design. Brands booked them for one thing: the way light moved through the rooms. In time I understood the studios were never the product. The eye was. So I rebuilt everything around it.
The eye
Newman Studios is a taste house now: one sensibility, applied across film, interiors, and objects. We make cinematic brand films, spaces with a point of view, and product work worth wanting. If it has been done, it is already old, so we make things that have not, and hold every frame to the same standard.
Now
Today we make films and campaigns for brands, developers, and beauty houses, and partner with a handful on retainer as their outside studio. Made a new way, with no crew and no location, so an idea is never held back by logistics. The tools changed. The eye did not.
