Football that can’t be shot

A match in Lagos, the last three minutes. A club that doesn’t exist, a stadium that was never built, ninety thousand people in the rain who believe in both. A corner is won, a header is cleared, a man is chased the length of the pitch and brought down in the box. Nothing is cut away from and nothing is sold. The football is simply the thing that happened, and every frame of it was made.

A match in the brief?

I build the football nobody can shoot. A stadium that doesn’t exist, a crowd that believes, a strike, the net: fictional club and kit, or yours. No players to license, no rights, no permits, no weather. A 20 to 30 second sequence takes three days.
